Workers have removed an overturned truck and its load of tires that closed part of Akronís Central Interchange for hours on Tuesday.
The tractor-trailer overturned around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning on the Interstate 76 westbound ramp to Interstate 77 southbound, leading to the closing of that part of the Akron expressway system, Akron Police Sgt. Michael Vavro said.
He said the driver of the truck was not injured and crews had to unload the trailer and right it before the road could reopen.
An Akron police officer responding to the scene collided with another vehicle. The officer sustained minor injuries and was treated at an area hospital.
