MEDINA: An Akron man is facing new kidnapping and rape charges after being accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old girl from Brunswick High School last year.

William Roberts, 37, pleaded not guilty Thursday in Medina County Common Pleas Court to charges of first-degree kidnapping and rape, and third-degree sexual battery. He previously had pleaded to two counts of kidnapping.

Authorities have accused Roberts and Jennifer Meyer of Mantua of luring the teen from the school after contacting her on Facebook, the Medina Gazette reports. Meyer, 41, has pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree complicity to kidnapping.
