A 19-year-old Akron man arranged to sell a pair of Nike Air Jordan basketball shoes on Instagram, only to have the shoes taken by an armed trio late Wednesday, Akron police said.

The victim and a friend drove to Orlando Avenue and Slosson Street to meet the potential buyer.

They were approached by three black men, one of whom pulled a silver revolver from his hooded sweatshirt, police said. The suspects took the shoes and ran toward Lawton Street.

Police said the suspects are 17 to 21 years old.

The first is 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. He was wearing a black North Face hooded sweatshirt and goes by the name Eric or Aaron. He was armed with a silver handgun.

The second is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and jeans.

The third was wearing a gray-and-red hooded sweatshirt, a dark colored skull cap and headphones.
