AKRON: A 22-year-old Akron man was sentenced to seven years in prison this week for providing heroin to a person who died from the drug.
Dyshawn Gray pleaded guilty Dec. 3 to involuntary manslaughter and possession of heroin. Summit County Common Pleas Court Judge Lynne Callahan sentenced Gray Wednesday.
In February 2015, Harry Martin was found dead of heroin toxicity. Investigators traced his cell phone calls back to Tracy Vanhorn, who confessed to connecting Martin with her heroin dealer, Gray. Vanhorn went with Martin to purchase heroin from Gray. Officers also used Martinís cell phone to contact Gray. Gray then sold heroin to undercover officers.
Vanhorn pleaded guilty in August 2015 to involuntary manslaughter and was sentenced to three years in prison.
