An Akron man was shot in the ear Friday while walking on the city’s west side, police said.

The man, 21, was treated for nonlife-threatening injuries.

He told officers he was walking about 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Raasch and West Cedar streets when two men approached from behind.

One of the men pulled out a handgun and fired a shot at the victim, hitting his ear. The victim was driven to Akron General Medical Center for treatment.

No suspects have been identified.
