A woman is accused of slashing a friendís forearm with a hook knife after he refused to steal a bottle of vodka from an Akron grocery store.

Valerie J. Isabell, 41, who has no permanent address, was charged with felonious assault.

She and a male acquaintance were walking in the 600 block of East Market Street at 8 p.m. Saturday and she wanted the man to steal vodka, Akron police said. When he refused, she slashed him, police said.

The man walked into a fast-food restaurant and called police. He was taken to Summa Akron City Hospital for treatment.

The woman, who had walked away, was found several blocks away on Simon Court.
