ALLIANCE: As Alliance Habitat for Humanity celebrates 25 years, it recently welcomed Niki McIlvain as the new executive director.

McIlvain’s job includes volunteer coordination, publicity, community relations, donator relations, fundraising and office management.

McIlvain is a graduate of West Branch High School who attended the University of Mount Union where she earned a degree in communications with a focus in public relations and marketing. She previously worked in marketing and pharmaceutical sales and insurance.

“I’ve been a board member with Habaitat for the past three years,” said McIlvain. “During that time I started really enjoying planning fundraisers, working with families and volunteering.”

When the job of executive director came open, she said she decided to take the leap and go for it.

She said the goal of Habitat is empowerment, opportunity and affordable options.

“I am really trying to show how much our homes impact entire communities,” said McIlvain.
