ALLIANCE: City police are no longer going to respond to non-injury traffic accidents on private property because of financial problems.
“We’re heading into a financial crunch,” Mayor Alan Andreani told WKYC-TV (Channel 3).
The accidents involve mostly crashes in parking lots. They don’t get reported to the state and don’t require a state crash report, police posted on their Facebook page. (https://www.facebook.com/Alliance.Police.Department)
“As a result, no police presence is necessary,” police said. “If you get into one of these accidents you are still required to exchange information with the other vehicle owner/driver before leaving the scene. Your insurance companies will handle the claims for you. “
