A 26-year-old Akron man is wanted in a robbery at a PNC bank branch in Highland Square on Friday afternoon.

Hours after the incident, investigators put out a warrant for the arrest of Deandre Garrett, who lives on Lane Street.

According to police, Garrett entered the bank at 889 W. Market St. about 3 p.m. Friday and passed a note to a teller. Police did not disclose what was in the note, but said Garrett made threats of having a gun but no one in the bank saw the weapon.

Bank employees apparently turned over an undisclosed amount of cash, which police said Garrett fled with, heading south on Marvin Avenue.
