BATH TWP.: The Bath Township Police Department will host a training exercise Aug. 15 at Old Trail School, 2315 Ira Road, Chief Michael McNeely said.

The exercise will simulate the scenario of a missing or abducted child and will involve the Summit County Child Abduction Response Team, which is comprised of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.

In addition to emergency forces, including a crime scene unit and K-9 help, the exercise will involve several role-playing volunteers. McNeely said he expects about 100 participants to take part overall.

"This would include the Summit County Child Abduction Response Team, Bath Police Department, Old Trail School administrators and members of Guardians Advocating Child Safety and Protection (GASP), an organization that promotes awareness of sexual abuse, abductions and missing children." McNeely said.
