CLEVELAND: Cleveland’s travel and tourism agency is hoping to parlay Ohio’s first casino into a blockbuster season.
It’s embracing the strategy of attraction bundling, urging people to visit the city’s museums, sports venues and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, then sample the slots.
That’s part of a tourism promotion campaign being detailed Tuesday by the “Positively Cleveland” agency. The Horseshoe Cleveland casino signed off on the idea and plans to urge visitors at area attractions to also try the casino.
Other focuses of the tourism campaign include Lake Erie, making a good first impression for visitors and getting around town.
The $350 million Cleveland casino will open in mid-May in the renovated Higbee department store downtown. Toledo’s casino opens several weeks later, with those in Cincinnati and Columbus to follow.
