GREEN: The city is hosting three special recycling events for residents this summer: a household hazardous waste drop-off, an electronic waste drop-off and a document-shredding event.
Hazardous household waste will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at the South Annex Administrative Building, 5383 Massillon Road. Items that will be accepted include paint/paint products, aerosols, pesticide liquids/solids/aerosols, cleaners, reactives, adhesives/roof tar/driveway sealers, fuel (gasoline, kerosene), automotive products, mercury, propane, helium, Freon, oxygen, and carbon dioxide cylinders and fluorescent lamps.
Electronic waste will be accepted from 9 a.m. to noon July 14 at the Central Administration Building, 1755 Town Park Blvd. Items that will be accepted include computers, printers, cable boxes, televisions up to 40 inches, telephones, keyboards, fax machines, switches and batteries.
For both of these events, items will be accepted only from residents of Green. A driver's license and current utility bill will be accepted as proof of residency.

Green and the Summit Akron Solid Waste Management Authority are hosting a Document Shredding Day from 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 4 at the Central Administration Building. A maximum of 10 file boxes or bags will be accepted from each person or business.
