COPLEY TWP.: Used tires, oil and antifreeze can be recycled Oct. 6 during the Copley Kiwanis Club Used Tire and Oil Collection Day.
The event, at 3770 Copley Road, next to the historic depot and caboose, will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will be open only to Copley residents.
“Proof of residency is required,” township Service Director Mark Mitchell said.
Rechargeable batteries and motorcycle, car and truck batteries will be accepted for recycling by Akron-based Rice Oil Co.
Household AA, AAA, C, D and 9-volt batteries, which do not pose an environmental hazard, will not be taken. They can be thrown into the regular trash.
The used tires — limited to four per household and off the rim — will be trucked to Liberty Tire in Minerva for recycling.
