CUYAHOGA FALLS: The Cuyahoga Falls Electric System was awarded a $50,000 grant by the American Public Power Association's Demonstration of Energy & Efficiency Developments (DEED) program to help purchase advanced technology distribution feeder automation equipment.

The recently developed technology is expected to increase power reliability to all 2,600 customers on those two distribution feeders.

The project will also slightly lower energy consumption and energy bills for customers with certain types of loads.

Running this project through the DEED program will allow other public power communities to learn from the project.
