Ranger Pamela Machuga is the winner of a regional award from the National Association for Interpretation.



Machuga has been a ranger in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park since 1991.

She was among regional honorees from Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Ontario. She was honored with the Master Frontline Interpreter award.



Machuga, who lives in Cuyahoga Falls, supervises park volunteers including 2,000 involved in the Polar Express, the holiday-themed train ride for youngsters on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.
