CUYAHOGA FALLS: The Cuyahoga Falls school board reviewed an extensive agenda at its Nov. 19 meeting, but started the meeting by honoring a selected group of students for their exemplary behavior and school performance.

The “Top Tigers” received a verbal recognition detailing why they were nominated for the award, shook hands will all school board members, and received a certificate and flower to remember their achievements.

The Cuyahoga Falls Schools Foundation sponsored the award ceremony.

“The foundation was so proud to be part of this evening,” said Dale Petty, a school board member. “We are so proud of our students.”

Petty encouraged the students and parents in attendance to continue to strive for excellence in their school system, especially since the foundation rewarded students with more than $140,000 in scholarships.

The school board also honored Steve Newlon for being selected as the Cuyahoga Falls representative for the All-County Teaching Team.
