HARRISVILLE TWP.: A Delphos, Ohio, man was killed Monday night in a three-vehicle accident on Interstate 71 in Medina County.

Matthew J. Krendel, 54, was stopped in the southbound right-hand lane at 9:38 p.m. when a semi-truck driven by Petrsor Adrian, 45, of Quebec, Canada, crashed into his Toyota 4 Runner, the Ohio State Highway Patrol said. Both vehicles went off the right side of the road and over an embankment into a wooded area to the north of the Ohio Station Outlets.

Krendel was killed.

Debris from the crash struck a Chevrolet Camaro driven by Bryan Smith, 29, of Wooster.

Adrian was treated at the scene for minor injuries, while Smith was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.

The patrol said all the drivers were wearing their seat belts, and speed and alcohol were not factors in the crash.
