Bullets from a drive-by shooting Tuesday struck a South Akron man and two other nearby houses, police said.

The incident happened about 5:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Beardsley Street.

According to police, a 43-year-old man was sitting on his porch when he was struck. The man was later treated and released from Cleveland Clinic Akron General.

Officers investigating the incident discovered two nearby houses were also struck by bullets from the shooting, police said.

It was not clear whether the man or the houses hit by bullets were targeted by the shooter.

Police have only vague descriptions of the suspects — three men in a silver or gray Dodge Stratus. The shots came from the front passenger side of the car, police said.
