COLUMBUS: The driver of a pickup truck that authorities say ran a red light and struck a school bus near the Ohio Statehouse, killing two people, has been found incompetent to stand trial.

Prosecutors say Terrance Trent ran a red light and struck a bus carrying three Groveport Madison schoolchildren in downtown Columbus on Dec. 12. The impact of Trentís pickup truck forced the bus into a nearby crosswalk, hitting two pedestrians.

A female pedestrian was killed at the scene. A male pedestrian died from his injuries about two weeks later.

A psychiatric evaluation presented in court Monday said it was possible Trent could be restored to competency. A judge granted prosecutorsí request for a second evaluation.

Trent has pleaded not guilty to charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
