First Friday is a monthly party in the downtown Canton Arts District that features music, movies, live theater and visuals arts events for adults and children on the first Friday of each month.
“Kids at Art” is the theme for the 75th such event, which will be held Friday.
The evening begins with a First Stop at the Canton Museum of Art at 5:30 p.m., followed by the full-out event from 6 to 10 p.m.
Galleries and artists’ studios will be open throughout the district, which is bounded by Market and McKinley avenues, Second and Sixth streets Northwest, and in the surrounding area. Live music will be onstage at 15 sites. Food and drinks will be on sale at more than 30 locations.
Activities go forward whatever the weather.
October’s First Friday will fall in the middle of a three-day Canton Film Festival at the Palace Theatre.
A brochure showing the time and location of each activity will be available in the information booth at Fourth Street and Court Avenue Northwest.
The same information is online at www.cantonfirstfriday.com. This site includes a map that can be downloaded.
