FAIRLAWN: The city’s engineer is getting a raise.

City officials passed an ordinance that raises the city engineer’s compensation by $10 per hour, at a recent city council meeting. Nicholas Spagnuolo is the engineer for Fairlawn.

Mayor William Roth said the last time the engineer’s hourly rate was changed was in 2007. He said the city decided to increase his rate due the changing times.

“Obviously, costs have increased for him, and we believe it’s fair to raise his compensation by $10,” Roth said.
