Arrests


An Akron man, 56, was charged with assault and violating a protection order, accused of attacking a Hartford Avenue woman, 52, at Rockne's Pub on West Market Street, grabbing her neck and throwing her to the ground.


A New York man, 30, was charged with counterfeiting May 19, accused of trying to pass a fake $100 bill at Summit Mall.


A Kryder Avenue man, 20, was charged with theft May 18, accused of trying to take $77.67 in merchandise from Giant Eagle.


A Greenwood Avenue woman, 58, was charged with theft May 18, accused of removing three DVD videos from their cases at Target and hiding them in her purse. She was stopped by security as she tried to leave.


Identity fraud


A Lenox Village Drive man, 35, told police May 19 that someone in Texas had made charges on his credit card totaling $2,508.


A South Miller Road woman, 27, told police that someone made $463 in charges to her checking account. Most of the charges were from Texas.
