The Cuyahoga Falls Electric System has extended the deadline for nominations for the 2014 American Municipal Power Scholarship Program until 5 p.m. on Feb. 5.
The AMP scholarship program was created to encourage community high school students to further their education and inspire awareness of careers in the municipal electric utility field. High school seniors who will graduate in the spring with a 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale and who have met all of the basic requirements for college or technical school are encouraged to contact their guidance counselors for details.
The Cuyahoga Falls Electric System will nominate one eligible candidate for each of the $2,000 one-time scholarships, the Lyle B. Wright Scholarship and the Richard H. Gorsuch Scholarship.
Applications are available through local High School Guidance Offices, Cuyahoga Falls Electric System (2550 Bailey Road), or at www.cityofcf.com. Students must submit the application with a letter of recommendation and an official high school transcript.
