Firefighters are investigating a blaze Monday night that caused extensive damage to a home in Akronís North Hill neighborhood.

No one was injured during the fire on Julien Avenue, fire officials said.

The American Red Cross was contacted to aid the residents.

Damage estimates are about $45,000.

According to a news release from Akron firefighters, several neighbors called 911 to report heavy smoke coming from the first floor of the home. Those inside the residence had fled prior to the arrival of firefighters.

A cause of the fire has not been determined.
