CUYAHOGA FALLS: Cleanup continues after a flood Monday at City Hall.

The first sign of trouble came around 7:30 a.m., when a broken hot-water line shorted out a fire alarm in the city's utility building area.

"There was heavy damage to that area," Mayor Don Walters said.

Some furniture and drywall will need to be replaced.

Water spilled down a wall into the IT department, and some computers were damaged. The water knocked out phones and computer service for all of the city offices Monday except safety forces.

Damage could reach six figures, Walters said.

"Our $5,000 deductible has been waived, and everything is covered," he said.
