A former Green Little League president received an 18-month suspended prison sentence and two years of probation Tuesday for stealing from the league.

Timothy McCloud, 46, of Green, pleaded guilty in Summit County Common Pleas Court last month to grand theft, a fourth-degree felony.

Along with the suspended prison sentence and probation, Judge Christine Croce sentenced McCloud to 250 hours of community service and ordered that he have no contact with any charitable youth organization during his probation.

Investigators found McCloud co-mingled his personal funds with league funds and used more than $27,000 in league funds for his personal use.

The league had insurance that covered the theft, court officials said.

Green Little League is a separate organization from Green Baseball Softball Federation, which has been in the community since 1958.
