AKRON: Firefighters responding to several complaints of the smell of gasoline early Saturday morning near the University of Akron found the source was a leak at an East Market Street gas station.
The Circle K at 650 E. Market St. reportedly lost 1,000 gallons of gasoline during the incident.
Authorities found many leaks in the lines and gas was seeping into the ground, said Lt. Howard Watson on Monday.
The estimated loss for the gasoline is $5,000, Watson said.
There were no injuries reported and the incident remains under investigation.
