The mayor said major city projects planned in Green in 2016 include:

Improvements to Massillon Road, including a right-turn lane southbound approaching Boettler Road and removal of the median island on Corporate Woods Circle between Getgo and Shops of Green to create two left-turn lanes onto Massillon. Plans also include removing a median island on northbound Massillon Road to better align to lanes that turn onto Interstate 77 North.

Extending Ironwood Drive to connect the Chenoweth Neighborhood to Chenoweth and South Arlington Road.

Resurfacing several roads, including Boettler Road, Pickle Road, Cottage Grove Road from Caston Road to state Route 619, Raber Road from The Chapel to Mayfair Road, a portion of the Raintree subdivision, Corporate Woods Drive from Giant Eagle to Forest Lake Drive and Melanie Drive.

Storm water improvements, including upgrades along Springdale Drive, construction of the Butterfield storm water dissipater to improve water quality entering Portage Lakes, replacing large portions of the main Street storm sewer and rebuilding catch basins on Boettler Oaks Drive.

Constructing trails along the north side of Steese Road from the middle school to Greenwood Drive and another along the east side of Shriver Road from Portage Lakes Career Center to King Drive.

Completing Central Park by mid-summer, upgrading the Heritage Hill playground in Boettler Park and adding the first responders memorial to Green Veterans Park with a dedication on Sept. 11.
