GREEN: With the first week of a new school year in the books, Green Local Schools have a slight increase in student enrollment with more still to come.

Superintendent Jeffrey A. Miller II made the observation just prior to Monday night’s first school board meeting of the 2017-18 school year.

He noted that “this is the first day we have all our kindergartens in session so it is almost like a new first day of school again today.”

Miller said the district enrollment was almost 4,250 as of Monday morning with enrollment continuing for the next several days.

The district had just over 4,200 students during the past school year.

Students returned to classes Aug. 23, said Miller, who called the resumption of classes “a great first week.”
