GRANGER TWP.: The Highland Board of Education agreed Monday to buy two properties for the new Hinckley Elementary and Sharon Elementary schools, the Medina Gazette reports.

Both properties, located on Ridge Road, will cost a total of $1.4 million.

“We went into this thinking we wanted to use our current location, but the more we talk to the state, the less desirable those sites are,” Superintendent Catherine Aukerman said, according to the newspaper.

Highland voters approved a $63 million bond issue in November to replace and renovate aging school buildings.
