Laura Culp, a partner at Sikich LLP, has been selected as this year’s recipient of Leadership Akron’s Lieberth Community Vision Award.

In a news release, the organization said Culp was chosen because of her significant contributions to the community through leadership roles in several nonprofit organizations.

Culp served as the board chair for Leadership Akron from 2012 to 2014. She is also chair of the United Way of Summit County’s 2017 donor campaign and has been involved with the Akron Area YMCA, Akron General Health System and the University of Akron’s College of Business.

She was honored with the Women of Achievement Award from the Women’s Network of Northeast Ohio, as well as the Frank L. Simonetti Distinguished Business Alumni Award from the University of Akron.

“Laura has faithfully served numerous organizations with insightful leadership and a deep commitment to the community’s well-being. These qualities have made her a difference-maker for each organization where she has played a leadership role, including Leadership Akron.” said Mark Scheffler, president of Leadership Akron.

The first Lieberth Community Vision Award was named for and presented to David Lieberth, a former deputy mayor and founder of Leadership Akron.

Culp will receive her award during the Lieberth Community Vision Award Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 9 at the John S. Knight Center. To learn more or purchase tickets, visit www.leadershipakron.org.
