Police say a driver for a ride-hailing service was fatally shot and his passenger injured in a shooting in Cleveland.

Cleveland police say the Lyft service driver was shot several times early Monday and a passenger in the back seat was wounded in the arm. Police say a man who showed up at a Cleveland hospital with another man has been arrested in connection with the shooting.

A statement Monday from Lyft says the San Francisco-based company is horrified and saddened by the loss of life. The company says it’s ready to assist law enforcement in their investigation.

Cleveland.com reports the driver was Mourice Foster, 32, according to police reports.

Foster was shot at least four times in the upper left side of his body, police reports say. He was found unconscious inside his car and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 31-year-old woman was shot in the left forearm. She was taken to University Hospitals for treatment.
