Akron police report two shootings Tuesday night that happened about three miles and three hours apart.

The first happened shortly after 8 p.m.

When officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1100 block of Andrus Street in South Akron, police said they found a trio of males who said someone in a red, four-door Chevy Cobalt opened fire on them.

None of the three was injured, police said, but a resident said several stray bullets from the incident hit their home.

About three hours later, just after 11 p.m., a 19-year-old man turned up at Summa Akron City Hospital after being shot in the buttocks.

The man, who is expected to survive, told police he was shot on Becker Lane in East Akron.

None of the people targeted in each either shooting provided police with specific details about what the shooters looked like.
