MANTUA: The Portage County community said goodbye Sunday to police K-9 Diablo who died recently after a battle with inoperable cancer.

Sgt. Joe Urso, along with other members of the police force and students from Crestwood High School, held a memorial for Diablo, WOIO (Channel 19) reports.

“The Mantua Police Department would like to thank each and every person who paid their respects and attended [Sunday’s] memorial service for K-9 Diablo,” police posted on social media. “The support from our community and from other communities keeps us going in these difficult times.”
