Soon-to-be Medicare-eligible Ohio residents are invited to attend free “Welcome to Medicare” events happening across the state to learn more about the health insurance plan.

During the events, which run from April 3 to June 21, Medicare experts will cover topics such as Medicare Part A and B benefits, Part D prescription drug coverage, Medicare Supplement plans, Medicare Advantage plans, financial assistance and key deadlines.

The events are sponsored by the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program (OSHIIP), a division of the Ohio Department of Insurance.

The event in Summit County will take place at 4 p.m. May 15 at the Twinsburg Senior Center, 10260 Ravenna Road. To RSVP, call 330-963-8722.

In Stark County, two events will be held at 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. April 23 at Mercy Medical Center, Mercy Hall, 1320 Mercy Drive NW in Canton. To RSVP, call 330-489-1215 or 800-223-8662. Limited handicap parking is available in front of Mercy Hall. For all others, use the high-rise parking deck and exit through the north stairway.

In Medina County, the event will be held at 6 p.m. May 17 in Medina Hospital, 1000 E. Washington St. Attendees can park in Lot A at the rear of the hospital and go to Entrance A.

OSHIIP will also hold public webinars that will be available to view on the Department of Insurance website.
