Metro RTA is advising its riders to expect delays on many of its routes Wednesday afternoon during President Obamaís campaign visit to Akron.

Obama is scheduled to talk to supporters at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the John S. Knight Center in downtown Akron. Tickets for the campaign stop have already been distributed.

Metro officials say the exact times, specific street closures and planned detours during the visit and for the presidentís motorcade will not be made public for security reasons.

The president is expected to arrive Wednesday afternoon at the Akron-Canton Airport after a campaign stop in Mansfield.

Akron and county officials have called a news conference for 2:30 p.m. this afternoon to discuss preparations for the visit.

Obama visited the city earlier this month after a campaign stop in Parma. He spent the night in Fairlawn and visited an Akron diner for breakfast the following morning.

The presidentís motorcade backed up traffic during rush hour as streets and interstates were closed as security precautions.

Metro officials suggest riders call its customer services line at 330-762-0341 for updates on Wednesday.
