SIDNEY, OHIO: A newspaper editor in western Ohio has resigned after authorities say he was arrested on a public indecency charge at a park.

The Sidney Daily News says editor Jeff Billiel resigned after his arrest on Tuesday. A message seeking comment was left at his home on Wednesday.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s office says Billiel was one of nine men arrested following a two-month investigation. Chief Deputy James R. Frey says authorities had received numerous complaints about sexual activity at the park.

The 69-year-old Billiel had been with the Daily News since 1972. He spent the last 37 years there as managing editor.
