COLUMBUS: Columbus police say the suspect in stabbings at an office building has been released from the hospital and is headed to jail.
John Mallett is accused of injuring four people in Columbus two weeks ago week before being shot by police.
Police spokesman Sgt. Rich Weiner said Wednesday that Mallett, who has been charged with four counts of felonious assault, would be transported to Franklin County Jail later in the evening.
Weiner says Mallett could face an initial court appearance as early as Thursday.
Police said the attacks appeared random.
Mallett’s father has said the 37-year-old suspect is schizophrenic and might have been under stress.
