The Ohio Turnpike is warning motorists to expect slow conditions on the highway in Springfield Township in southeastern Mahoning County starting Tuesday and continuing until Nov. 15.

The state agency is replacing the westbound bridge deck and making repairs at the bridge over Garfield Road in the township which is south of Youngstown.

Westbound traffic will cross over to the eastbound side of the highway and both directions will be reduced to one lane at the bridge over Garfield Road.

The speed limit will be 50 mph.

The bridge work is part of a $4.6 million project to rebuild nine bridges in the area.

Workers are expected to begin replacing the eastbound bridge in late February.
