Arrests

An Anderson Street man, 26, was charged with aggravated robbery after he allegedly entered Christy’s Bar, 561 Seiberling St., pointed a gun at a bartender and demanded money from a cash register. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

A Brittain Road man, 30, was charged with domestic violence, domestic violence menacing and disrupting public service after he allegedly choked a woman who is eight months pregnant, pushed her to the floor and took her cell phone so she could not call police.

A Romig Road man, 21, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted a woman who is seven months pregnant.

An Eva Avenue man, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence after he allegedly choked, beat and sexually assaulted a woman.

A Madison Avenue woman, 47, was charged with felonious assault after she allegedly pushed a woman into a telephone pole, knocked her to the ground, kicked her in the head several times and then fled the scene.

A Belvidere Way man, 18, was charged with assault on an officer, resisting arrest and failing to disclose personal information. Police said he refused to give information, punched an officer and fought with other police in the street.

An Akron woman, 24, and a Dietz Avenue woman, 26, were charged with aggravated burglary and felonious assault after they allegedly forced their way into a Kimlyn Circle residence, assaulted two people and took items.

A Second Avenue man, 19, was charged with robbery after he allegedly punched a man and knocked him off his bicycle while six other men began to hit and kick the victim. Police said the Second Avenue man took the bike and a backpack.

A Copley Road man, 55, was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly admitted cutting a person with a knife.

A Bellows Street man, 50, was charged with breaking and entering and possession of criminal tools after police reported finding him inside a Bellows home. Officers found a duffel bag in a bedroom that contained copper, metal piping, a screwdriver, pry bar and flashlight. The man was wearing work gloves.

A Colette Drive man, 20, was charged with receiving stolen property after police stopped a vehicle at Moon Street and Vernon Odom Boulevard. The car had been reported stolen.

Two men, 19 and 21, were charged with burglary and participation in a criminal gang after they allegedly broke into a Robinette Court residence and stole items. One man admitted to being a gang member and said the burglary was part of gang activity.

A Belvidere Way woman, 54, was charged with receiving stolen property and misuse of a credit card. Police said she found a lost credit card on the cafeteria floor at Oriana House and used it to make $700 in purchases.

An Akron man, 19, was charged with burglary after his fingerprints matched those found during a burglary investigation at a Colette Drive home.

A Yukon Avenue man, 41, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly punched a woman in the back of the head twice.

A Rhoadesdale Avenue man, 32, was charged with domestic violence and menacing after he allegedly assaulted a woman.

An Akron man, 22, of West Waterloo Road, and two teenagers were arrested during a July 17 incident at the Treasure Island Internet Cafe on Wooster Road North. An Eighth Street Northwest boy, 14, was charged with assault while the adult was charged with assault and obstruction of justice. A Washington Avenue teen, 15, was charged with curfew violations and underage drinking.

A 16th Street Northwest man was charged with domestic violence July 15 after he allegedly punched and kicked a female several times.

A West Hopocan Avenue man was charged with domestic violence July 13 after he allegedly grabbed the arms and back of a woman in traffic.

Rape

Police began investigating a report July 18 that a boy, 15, told his uncle that he had been sexually abused by a man who is in a relationship with the boy’s mother.

Burglary

Three bank bags said to contain $21,111 were stolen July 16 from a safe at David B’s Grill and Pub on West Tuscarawas Avenue.

Theft

Someone stole two computers and other equipment, total value $1,400, from a South Van Buren Avenue home.

Bath Township

Arrests

A Circle K worker, 19, was charged with underage consumption of alcohol and possession of drugs July 21 at the store at 1949 Cleveland-Massillon Road. He told police he drank four beers during his shift. Officers found a coffee cup containing beer and a plastic bag containing prescription drugs.

A woman, 27, was charged with theft July 23 after she allegedly took $10,000 from a Medina Line Road home.

A Meadowvale Drive man, 18, was charged with domestic violence July 22 after he allegedly struck his father.

Copley

Arrest

A Winchester Road woman, 50, was charged with driving under the influence July 16 after she allegedly drove into a car parked at Olive Garden on Medina Road.

Coventry Township

Theft

A Dorwil Drive resident told deputies July 19 that two heart-cut diamonds and a necklace, total value $6,000, and a Civil War pistol, no value listed, were stolen from a bedroom closet.

Cuyahoga Falls

Arrest

A former Toys R Us employee, 21, was charged with theft July 18 after he allegedly took cash and video games from the store at 590 Howe Ave.

Breaking and entering

Someone broke into an office July 23 in the 1000 block of Graham Road Circle, but it was not known if anything was taken.

Someone broke into a business July 24 in the 1300 block of Main Street and stole two computers.

Someone tried to break into Toys R Us, 590 Howe Ave., by cutting a hole in the roof July 23.

Counterfeiting

An employee of Giant Eagle, 125 Graham Road, told police that a man entered GetGo and tried to purchase a pack of cigarettes with play money. When the clerk called for a manager, the man fled.

Domestic violence

A woman told police July 19 that a man threatened to hit her and her child, 12.

Forgery

A Curtis Avenue man told police July 25 that someone stole a check from his home, forged it and cashed it for $40 at a local bank.

Misuse of debit card

A Searl Street woman told police July 23 that someone used her debit card to make more than $400 in unauthorized online purchases.

Thefts

A shotgun was stolen from a home in the 1700 block of 19th Street.

Two wagon wheels were stolen July 15-18 from a wagon in a barn in the 800 block of West Bath Road.

Fairlawn

Arrests

An Akron man, 36, was charged with theft July 19 after he allegedly took seven Ralph Lauren shirts, total value $297, from Dillard’s at Summit Mall. Authorities said he tried to conceal the shirts in a bag, but was apprehended after a short chase.

Robbery

Two men with T-shirts pulled over their heads robbed a Circle K on July 24. They took all the money from registers and a file cabinet. The robbers tried to open an ATM but were unsuccessful. A crowbar used during the robbery was placed in evidence along with the store’s video surveillance.

Theft

A Barberton woman, 47, told police July 19 that someone stole her wallet after she left it at the Journeys store in Summit Mall. The thief used her card to buy two pairs of sunglasses from Sunglass Hut worth $381 and an iPod Touch 8G worth $212.

An Akron woman, 23, of Ravenwood Street, was charged with assault July 18 after she allegedly hit and pushed her boyfriend several times on Fortuna Drive.

Theft

Someone stole a small safe, treasury bonds and cash, total value $760, and broke a lock box July 15 at a home on Lake Front Drive.

Hudson

Theft

Hudson Electric employees told police July 19 that someone stole copper grounding wires from 10 utility poles on city property behind Sagamore Soils in the 2000 block of Barlow Road.

Norton

Arrests

Three juveniles were charged with possession of marijuana July 25 after they allegedly were found smoking the drug in a trailer in the 1200 block of Norton Avenue.

A Shellhart Road man, 57, was charged with assault July 24 after he allegedly punched a man, 23, in the face during a driving incident.

Springfield Township

Arrests

An East Canton man, 52, of Mapleton Street Southeast, was charged with felony deception to obtain a dangerous drug July 19 at the Walmart on South Arlington Road. Police said he a submitted a prescription with the quantity altered.

A Springfield Lake Drive woman, 38, was charged with domestic violence July 17 after she allegedly grabbed a man’s head and scratched his face. The two had been quarreling over a rocking chair and a television.

A Utica Avenue man, 43, was charged with felony domestic violence July 14 after he allegedly punched his brother in the face and ribs.

A Uniondale Drive boy, 16, was charged with attempted burglary July 25.

A Beckley Road man, 28, was charged with disorderly conduct July 24 after he allegedly yelled profanities at employees at Wendy’s, 4305 Kent Road, when he was told the restaurant was out of baked potatoes.

Suspicious activity

A security guard told police July 17 that a man was using a cell phone to record girls at Kohl’s, 4266 Kent Road. The phone was confiscated.

Thefts

Jewelry valued at $7,000 was stolen from a home in the 2200 block of Elmwood Avenue between March 1 and July 21.

A 200-pound concrete bench was stolen July 18-21 from the front yard of a home in the 3900 block of Redwing Circle.

Arrests

Three Akron men were charged July 21 with possessing chemicals used to manufacture methamphetamine during a traffic stop in the 200 block of Southwest Avenue. Police said the men — 35, of Sumner Street; 20, of Weathervane Lane; and 26, of Neiman Street — had seven packages containing 432 pseudoephedrine pills. A fourth man, 30, of Upson Street, was charged with tampering with evidence.

An Akron man, 21, of Concord Avenue, was charged with criminal trespassing July 23 after police removed him from a home in the 100 block of Northwood Lane three times in as many days.

A Lakemore woman, 23, of Fairdale Drive, was arrested July 18 on warrants alleging felonious assault and failure to comply with a police officer’s order.

An Independence Circle Northwest man, 54, was charged with assault July 12 after he allegedly yelled at a swimmer, jumped on his shoulders and held him underwater.

A Norton woman, 25, of Hazelwood Avenue, was charged with felony theft July 18 after she allegedly took a woman’s Chase Bank credit card and used it at two locations.

A Frank Avenue Northwest man, 21, was charged with domestic violence July 19 after he allegedly pushed his brother and threatened him.

Thefts

A Greenview Circle Northwest man said an $800 catalytic converter was cut from a car at his home July 17.

A worker at AT&T Mobility on Strip Avenue Northwest said July 17 that someone took a $650 iPhone 4S and replaced it with a Verizon iPhone.

Three people took a pressure washer and air conditioner, total value $554, from Walmart on Mega Street Northwest and left without paying July 13. The theft was discovered during a review of store video.

A Canton woman told police July 13 that her purse, which contained a child’s hearing aid valued at $1,300, was stolen along with cash and medications as she sat outside Westfield Belden Village Mall near Sears.

A Canton woman said her iPhone 4S, a wallet and other items, total value $1,000, were stolen July 10 at Marshall’s on Strip Avenue Northwest.

Lawrence Township

Arrests

A Stoneacre Street resident, 39, was charged with first-degree felony charges of attempted murder and aggravated arson and fourth-degree felony domestic violence July 23 following a weekend fire at her home. Police said she set clothes and wood on fire inside her home while her husband was asleep in their bedroom.

A Massillon man, 30, of Neale Avenue Southwest, was arrested July 18 on warrants following a rollover accident on state Route 21 north of Marshallville. He is accused of receiving stolen property.

North Canton

Arrests

A Viking Street Northwest man, 32, was charged with assault and menacing July 17 after he allegedly punched his girlfriend several times, slammed her head into a wall and threatened to kill her.

A Woodland Avenue Southwest man, 48, was charged with domestic violence July 14 after he allegedly shoved his wife during a quarrel.

Plain Township

Arrests

A Canal Fulton man, 20, of Arcadia Street Northwest, was charged with aggravated trespass July 19. Stark County sheriff’s deputies said he climbed onto a roof at the former Giant Eagle store in the Oakwood Plaza off Easton Street Northeast and opened a roof hatch, triggering an alarm.

A Martindale Road Northeast man, 30, was arrested on a felony domestic violence warrant July 17.

Uniontown

Vandalism

Vandals climbed atop Uniontown Elementary on Cleveland Avenue Northwest and threw a bucket of roofing tar onto the sidewalk and flagpole at the front entrance. The vandals also tore up large rubber chunks of playground. Damage was estimated at $1,000.

Arrests

A South Water Street man, 20, was charged with trafficking in marijuana July 24.

A South Lincoln Street man, 21, was charged with domestic violence July 18.

Vandalism

Vandals snapped four mailboxes off their posts July 22 and threw them into the middle of the 1100 block of Lake Street. Other mailboxes were reported damaged July 17 in the 900 block of Carlisle Court.

Ravenna

Arrests

A North Walnut Street man, 22, was charged with gross sexual imposition July 22 after he allegedly groped a female employee at Burger King. He was arrested in Twinsburg.

An Alliance man, 18, of Nella Brook Avenue, was charged with receiving stolen property July 25 after he allegedly used a stolen credit car to buy gas at a Circle K.

A College Street man, 22, was arrested July 25 on a warrant over a probation violation.

Burglary

A home in the 500 block of Oakcrest Drive was broken into July 25.
