A Rowe Street man, 19, was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly knocked down a man, kicked him and stomped on his head, breaking the victim’s jaw in three places.

A West Market Street woman, 40, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence after she allegedly stabbed someone with a screwdriver.

A Storer Avenue man, 23, was charged with possessing weapons illegally, possessing a dangerous ordnance, defacing a firearm and drug abuse. Police said he had marijuana and a sawed-off .22-caliber rifle with the serial number scratched off.

A Rittman woman, 52, of Sterling Avenue, was charged with burglary, possession of drugs and having weapons illegally. Police said she entered a Carlton Drive home without permission and took property. She was arrested while exiting a back door.

A Penny Lane man, 23, was charged with theft after he allegedly took $5,550 worth of gift cards and marked-down merchandise from B.J.’s Wholesale Club while working as a cashier over a two-month period.

A Greenwood Avenue man, 18, was charged with burglary after he allegedly broke into homes on Archwood and Thornapple avenues.

A Stanton Avenue man, 68, was charged with violation of a protection order after police reported finding him quarreling with a woman at a South Main Street home. The woman had filed a protection order against him.

A Georgia Avenue man, 35, was charged with receiving stolen property after police reported finding him with a stolen license plate.

A Sunset View man, 32, was charged with grand theft auto, felony theft, tampering with evidence and forgery. Police said he forged a vehicle’s title documents.

A Kling Street woman, 33, was charged with theft after she allegedly stole $12,100 worth of jewelry.

A Greenwood Avenue man, 19, was charged with obstructing justice after he allegedly lied to police detectives during interviews about his involvement in a felonious assault investigation.

A West Wilbeth Road man, 25, was charged with burglary, misrepresenting identification and obstructing official business after he allegedly broke into a Sevilla Avenue home. Police said he ran out a back door and was arrested on West Waterloo Road, where he gave officers a false name and birth date.

A Lake Street woman, 21 was charged with domestic violence after she allegedly tried to attack a person with box cutters.

A Thurston Street man, 52, was charged with domestic violence.

A Romig Road man, 21, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly pushed a woman to the floor. She is seven months pregnant.

A Johnston Street man, 56, was charged with violation of a civil protection order.

A Michigan Place man, 38, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and aggravated menacing April 15 after he allegedly pulled a gun on a woman on Michigan Place.

Breaking and entering

A Mig welder, two air tanks and other items, total value $1,410, were reported stolen April 16 from a West Wooster Road garage.

Bath Township

Arrest

An Akron woman, 48, was charged with obstructing official business, failing to reinstate a license and having expired plates April 20. An officer stopped her because she matched the description of a woman who tried to make a fraudulent return of merchandise at a local coffee shop. Police said the woman gave a false Social Security number and name. The coffee shop declined to prosecute the theft charge.

Thefts

A Medina Line Road man told police April 23 that someone took a home safe box containing $10,000.

A Colony Hills Drive man told police April 21 that someone tried to steal lumber from his yard.

Copley Township

Arrest

An Akron youth, 18, was charged with driving under the influence April 21. Police reported finding marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

Identity fraud

A Conestoga Trail woman told police that someone used her deceased husband’s Social Security number.

A Northledge Court woman told police April 20 that someone withdrew $2,000 from her bank account and wrote a check in her name for $4,500.

Domestic violence

A Green Gable Trail man, 37, was charged with domestic violence and unlawful restraint April 22 after he allegedly threatened his pregnant girlfriend, 35, and put her in a chokehold.

A Wright Road man, 22, was charged with domestic abuse April 24 after he allegedly hit his girlfriend, 19, several times and pulled her hair.

Thefts

A Pebblecreek Drive woman told police April 19 that someone stole a lawn mower from her garage.

A Barberton man told police that someone broke into his car April 18 outside Wasabi Hibachi Steakhouse. Jewelry and items purchased from Best Buy, total value $18,039, were reported stolen.

Cuyahoga Falls

Arrests

An Akron man, 20, was charged April 25 with aggravated menacing after he allegedly used a knife to threaten a Pleasant Meadows Boulevard man, 50.

An Akron woman, 20, was charged with drug trafficking April 23 after she allegedly sold a prescription drug in a State Road parking lot.

Three men and two women were charged with having an open container of alcohol April 22. One woman was charged with possession of marijuana.

Burglary

Someone broke into a home April 24 in the 3800 block of Wyoga Lake Road and stole nearly $300.

False report

Police were investigating a false report of an overdose that a man made April 21.

Identity theft

An Adams Avenue woman reported April 24 that someone tried to use her banking information to make a $777 online purchase. The fraud was caught before the items were shipped.

Burglary

A Second Street woman reported April 21 that a man she knows entered her apartment without permission while she was asleep. She told police that she suspects he had a key made.

Thefts

An Eighth Street woman, 39, reported April 25 that a member of her household stole her debit card and made an unauthorized withdrawal.

Police learned April 18 that someone stole $1,000 from an Akron-Peninsula Road credit union March 19-23.

A Cleveland man, 41, was charged with theft April 24 after he allegedly tried to steal $291 worth of meat and energy drinks from Giant Eagle.

A Sand Run Parkway man, 18, was charged with drug possession April 22 after he allegedly tried to hide drugs in a bush behind a building at Crawfish Boulevard and North Miller Road.

A Westerly Road man, 18, and a Victory Street woman, 17, were charged with assault April 19 after they allegedly attacked a woman, 21, and a man, 22, in front of Guitar City on West Market Street.

Green

Breaking and entering

Someone forced open a tool trailer April 18 and stole $1,190 at a Lauby Road construction site. The trailer was owned by Northstar Asphalt of Sunset Strip Avenue Northwest.

Identity theft

A Marlborough Drive woman told police April 18 that someone used her identification to obtain a credit card and made $572 in purchases.

New Franklin

Identity fraud

A Yager Road resident told police April 16 that he discovered $7,794 in fraudulent charges on his credit card. He said most of the charges were made in San Francisco.

Theft

Cash, 60 compact discs and other items, total value $1,875, were reported stolen April 10 from two cars parked on Middle Street.

Norton

Trespassing

A bank employee told police April 24 that a family moved into a Hillier Road home April 18, even though the sale of the house had not been finalized. The family was ordered to move. A woman in the home told police she paid a $5,000 down payment in February and had no place else to go.

Springfield Township

Arrest

An Akron woman, 38, of Kenmore Boulevard, was arrested on a theft warrant April 16. She is accused of defrauding Kohl’s on South Arlington Street by returning items that weren’t purchased at the store.

Breaking and entering

A generator, power washer and tools, total value $7,458, were reported stolen April 18 from a Krumroy Road home.

Burglary

Someone broke into a vacant home April 18 on Sanitarium Road, stealing a $2,000 waterline and causing $5,000 in water damage.

Stow

Arrests

A Cuyahoga Falls man, 29, was charged with resisting arrest, failing to comply with a peace officer and walking on the highway April 19. Police received reports of a man walking on state Route 8. When they found him near the Steels Corners Road exit, he ran across six lanes of traffic. He was arrested in the 400 block of Bridge­water Parkway.

An Akron boy, 14, was charged with assault April 21 after he allegedly tried to strangle a girl, 14.

A Sanford Avenue girl, 14, was charged with misusing the 911 system and receiving stolen property. Police said she made several calls to 911 from a stolen cell phone.

Breaking and entering

Someone broke a restaurant’s glass door April 23 in the 900 block of Graham Road and stole $100 in cash. Damage to the door was estimated at $300.

Fraud

A Springfield woman received two calls April 24, one from a man and one from a woman, who informed her she won $2.5 million. She was told to wire $200 to claim her prize. She called police instead.

Menacing

An Oak Road man, 35, told police April 25 that someone he knows threatened to kill him.

Theft

Rings valued at more than $9,000 were stolen from a dining room table in the 3700 block of Rose Mallow Court between Feb. 23 and March 26. The theft was reported April 23.

Tallmadge

Arrests

A Barberton man, 23, of East Tuscarawas Avenue, and a Fairlawn man, 21, of Dalton Road, were charged April 16 with possessing chemicals used to make methamphetamine. Police said the men tried to steal items from the Dollar General store at Midway Plaza. The Barberton man also was charged with attempted theft and trying to elude police.

Thefts

Investigators were working with Dallas police in an attempt to track down a $3,500 ring that was bought with a fake check April 16 from a Northwood Lane woman who sold it on Craigslist.

Akron police found a handgun March 30 and traced it to a home in the 500 block of Hilltop Terrace. The owners told Tallmadge officers April 17 they didn’t realize the gun was missing, but believed it was stolen between Sept. 15 and Oct. 20.

Suspicion

Police reported finding an intoxicated man with a plastic bag containing white powder and seeds April 17 in front of the Kiddie College day-care center in the 100 block of South Avenue. The man told police he found the bag near Chapel Hill Mall. The powder was sent to the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation for testing.

A Lorain man, 26, was charged with complicity to robbery April 20.

A Ravenna man, 48, of North Chestnut Street, was charged with domestic violence April 16 in the 1600 block of Athena Drive.

A Mulberry Court man, 23, was charged with domestic violence at his home April 23.

Arrests

A South Chestnut Street man, 18, was charged April 16 with possessing a fake handgun indistinguishable from a weapon at a school, criminal trespassing and inducing panic. Police said the man brandished a “very realistic-looking” handgun in the playground behind West Main Elementary School.

A Cleveland Road man, 38, was charged with domestic violence April 19 after officers reported seeing him “manhandling” and striking a woman. Police said the man had two previous domestic violence convictions from Garfield Heights. The woman told police she was hospitalized after he assaulted her five days earlier.

An East Main Street man, 33, was charged with domestic violence April 21 after he allegedly punched his son in the face.

Arrests

A Canton woman, 21, of 11th Street Northwest, was charged with theft April 14 after she allegedly made five deposits totaling $3,229 for her employer, Cellaris, in Westfield Belden Village Mall, but the bank didn’t receive the money.

A Seymour Street Northwest man, 42, was arrested on a warrant April 12 charging him with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor.

Breaking and entering

A $600 laptop computer was reported stolen April 9 from Gymnastics Center on Whipple Avenue Northwest.

Thefts

Two air-conditioning units, total value $2,000, were reported stolen April 16 from Bolon Enterprises on Promler Street Northwest.

An employee at Sunglass Hut International in the Westfield Belden Village Mall told police April 16 that a man stole a $900 pair of sunglasses while a woman distracted a clerk.

Someone stole a student’s $790 iPad on April 12 at Jackson High School on Fulton Drive Northwest.

A Sweitzer Street youth, 17, was charged with domestic violence April 15 after he allegedly grabbed a woman by the throat and pushed her backward.

A Spencer Avenue Northwest man, 44, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly cursed at his teenage stepson and threw a dinner plate at him April 14.

Theft

A truck air-cleaner barrel, a CD player and other items, total value $3,600, were reported stolen April 16 from Double Transportation on State Street Northwest.

North Canton

Arrests

A Louisville woman, 32, of North Chapel Street, was charged with domestic violence and criminal damaging April 19 after she allegedly went to her ex-husband’s Portage Street Northwest home, punched him in the head several times and drove into a vehicle in his driveway.

A Mount Pleasant Road Northwest man, 46, was charged with receiving stolen property and displaying someone else’s license-plate sticker on his car April 17.

A Rose Lane man, 25, was arrested on warrants charging him with two counts of burglary and one of theft April 14.

A Hillcrest Avenue Northwest woman told police April 12 that eight rings, a bracelet and other items, total value $2,020, were stolen at her home.

Someone broke into an East Maple Street home April 8 and stole a wedding band and eight-place setting of silverware, total value $600.

Two cell phones, total value $1,100, were reported stolen April 9 from desks at Mullinax Ford on Whipple Avenue Northwest.

A 31st Street Northeast man, 32, was charged with domestic violence April 19 after he allegedly grabbed a woman, pushed her onto a bed and slapped her.

A Highspire Drive Northeast man, 28, was charged with domestic violence April 15 after he allegedly threatened to kill his grandfather.

A computer, TV and other items, total value $4,444, were reported stolen April 6 from a Linford Avenue Northeast home.

Theft

A DVD player, 10 DVDs and a GPS system unit, total value $650, were reported stolen April 11 from inside a pickup truck parked at a 26th Street Northeast home.
