Summit County



A Colonial Hills, man, 31, was charged with aggravated vehicular assault, failure to comply and operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and drugs. Police said he was driving while intoxicated and caused a two-car crash at East Tallmadge and Home avenues that injured two people. The man fled the scene, and the two victims were taken to hospitals. Officers saw the man at East Cuyahoga Street and Lexington Avenue. He was arrested after a short chase.



An Ashland Court man, 19, was charged with endangering a child Feb. 20. He is accused of letting a 15-year-old boy, who was drinking and taking pills, sleep in the back of his car instead of seeking help for the boy.

Bath Township


A man, 33, was charged with obstructing official business, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license Feb. 17. Police reported finding him in the 1000 block of Ghent Road next to a running car that had been pulled into a flower bed. Officers said he gave police false information about his identity.

Sexual assault

A woman, 23, reported Feb. 15 that she was coerced into leaving a Medina Road bar with a man who then sexually assaulted her in his car.

Copley Township


A Crestview Avenue woman was charged with domestic violence Feb. 17.

Coventry Township


A Clinton woman said someone stole her credit cards and $535 from her shopping cart Feb. 16 at the Acme store on Manchester Road.

Cuyahoga Falls



A woman, 23, was charged with leaving three children unattended in a car Feb. 19 at Summit Mall. She is accused of leaving 2-year-old twins and a 4-year-old in her car while she shopped with a friend at David’s Bridal. The woman said she ran into the store to give her friend some money and was checking on the children.



An Akron man, 21, of South Jasmine Avenue, was charged with domestic violence Feb. 11 after he allegedly struck a Greensburg Road man in the eye.

New Franklin


Three pistols, a shotgun, cash and jewelry, total value $2,485, were reported stolen Feb. 14 from a Pepperidge Road home. Entry may have been made through a doggie door.



A man reported Feb. 21 that a woman who has harassed him for 10 years found him sitting in his car in a Greenwich Road parking lot. He said she circled his vehicle several times, taking pictures and yelling at him.

Springfield Township


An East Waterloo Road boy, 15, was charged with felony domestic violence Feb. 13 after he allegedly struck his mother with a water bottle after she told him to do some chores.



A Hidden Lake Drive man, 25, reported Feb. 13 that she lost more than $2,000 to a scam artist pretending to be with a jobs posting website. The man was sent a fake check for $2,500 that he deposited and wired $2,017 to East Orange , N.J. The man later learned the check he deposited was fake.

Medina County



Twenty wooden signs, shaped and decorated like cows and valued at $200, were reported stolen from a yard Feb. 19 on Tanglewood Trail.

Portage County



A Carthage Avenue man, 53, was charged with assault and unlawful restraint at his home Feb. 14.



A Diamond Street man, 21, was charged with assault Feb. 10 after he allegedly head-butted his ex-girlfriend and punched her twice in the face.

A $700 drum set was reported stolen Feb. 8 from a North Locust Street home.

Jackson Township


A Massillon man, 29, of Tremont Avenue Southeast, was charged with assault and sexual imposition Feb. 12 involving an attack on a man. He was arrested on Raleigh Street Northwest.

Lake Township


A Cleveland Avenue Northwest girl, 15, was taken to the Stark County Juvenile Attention Center on Feb. 11 after she allegedly threatened her brother with a kitchen knife.

Plain Township


A Stark County Parks ranger arrested three men Feb. 10 after they allegedly attempted to enter the former Molly Stark Hospital off U.S. 62 to steal scrap metal. A Canton man, 21, of Smith Avenue Southwest, was charged with breaking and entering, vandalism and possession of criminal tools, all felonies. A Canton man, 21, of 31st Street Northwest, and a Louisville man, 23, of Constitution Avenue, were charged with breaking and entering and vandalism.

Wayne County

Wayne sheriff


A Wooster Township man, 23, was charged with felonious assault Feb. 9 after he allegedly stabbed a man, 48, with a knife at a field in the 3800 block of Canal Road.


A 1987 car trailer valued at $2,000 was reported stolen Feb. 16 from a yard in the 4000 block of Batdorf Road, Wooster Township.

An aluminum ladder was reported stolen Feb. 14 from a field in the 100 block of East Pleasant Home Road, Canaan Township.



A Shreve woman, 26, was arrested Feb. 22 on charges of possession of controlled substances, illegal conveyance of drug abuse into a detention facility, and operating a vehicle under the influence after police stopped her in the 500 block of East Liberty Street.


Clothing, baseball cards and other items, total value $3,675, were reported stolen Feb. 16 from a house in the 4500 block of Young Drive after it was sold at a sheriff’s auction.
