Summit County



An East Exchange Street man, 49, was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly assaulted another man and fractured his eye socket.

An East Waterloo Road man, 22, and a Hartville woman, 18, were charged with obstructing official business, possessing drug paraphernalia, illegal assembly of drugs and illegal manufacturing of drugs. Police responded to the 1400 block of Massillon Road for possible drug activity. The man reportedly offered another man meth for helping him with his car. Officers found a meth lab in a van. The woman was inside the van when officers arrived.

A Norton man, 23, was charged with drug abuse, possession of drug paraphernalia and a drug abuse instrument following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of East Avenue. Police said the driver had a small plastic bag of a white powder on his lap. Officers found heroin and syringes inside the car.

A Botnick Plaza woman, 38, was charged with possession of cocaine following a traffic stop on Vernon Odom Boulevard. Police said she tried to conceal a small container of powder residue. Officers reported finding cocaine wrapped in a dollar bill in her purse.

A Triplett Boulevard woman, 41, was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia following a traffic stop at Lindsay Street and Triplett Boulevard. Officers reported finding heroin, straws, Q-tips, a tie and syringes.

A Palisades Avenue man, 19, was charged with possession of heroin while sitting in his car in the parking lot of a business on Vernon Odom Boulevard. Officers said the driver had a metal tin containing heroin and a passenger was holding a syringe cap.

An Avon Street man, 24, was charged with possession of cocaine following a traffic stop at East Archwood Avenue and Clement Street. Officers said the man had 3.2 grams of cocaine in his wallet. He also was wanted on a Portage County warrant.

A Cuyahoga Falls man, 24, of Lincoln Avenue, was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly knocked a man unconscious during a fight.

A McKinley Avenue woman, 24, was charged with uttering a forged instrument after she allegedly tried to cash a forged check.

A Seventh Avenue woman, 21, was charged with uttering a forged instrument after she allegedly tried to cash a forged check.

A Stoner Street man, 50, was charged with breaking and entering after two employees saw him inside a fenced area at Goodyear. The man admitted to taking copper pipes.

A Fern Street woman, 44, was charged with domestic violence after she allegedly cut the face of her live-in boyfriend during a fight.



Jewelry, purses and medications were reported stolen June 16 from a Fourth Street Northwest home.

A $1,000 flat-screen television was reported stolen June 14 from a Shenandoah Boulevard home.


A St. John Street woman told police June 19 that the state notified her that someone filed an Ohio tax return in her name for a $2,083 refund.

An $800 laptop computer was taken June 14 from the Adult Active Center at the Lake Anna Y at Hopocan Avenue and Second Street Northwest.

Coventry Township


A flat-screen TV, laptop computer and cash, total value $1,500, were reported stolen June 17 from a Cormany Road home.


A $10,000 wedding ring and a 12-piece silverware table setting valued at $3,000 were among items stolen June 18 from a Bay Path home.

Cuyahoga Falls


An Akron woman, 23, was charged with possession of heroin June 21 after police reported finding the drug in a plastic bag during a traffic stop on Graham Road at Prange Drive.

Four Cuyahoga Falls High School sophomores, ages 14 to 16, were charged with criminal mischief and curfew violation June 22 after they allegedly threw eggs at a Chestnut Boulevard home about 1 a.m.


Two men, ages 24 and 25, told police June 22 they were assaulted by several men in the parking lot of Red Fox, 1767 State Road.

Breaking and entering

The treasurer of Falls Catholic Credit Union, 33 Graham Road, reported June 21 that someone entered the lobby when the business was closed and battered the ATM, rendering it inoperable. The thief was not able to open the machine.

Passing bad checks

The owner of Radair, 1200 W. Portage Trail, reported June 20 that a customer paid for repairs with an $8,000 check that was returned because the account was closed.

Theft by deception

A Keenan Avenue man 37, reported June 21 that he used his mother’s PayPal account to buy a pair of Nike LeBron James MVP sneakers on eBay for more than $2,100. When he received the package, it was empty.



Someone stole a $2,000 flat-screen television from a Sweitzer Road home June 10.


Copper pipe valued at $1,800 was reported stolen June 15 from a vacant Killian Road home belonging to Bank of America.



Someone entered a home in the 2600 block of Harland Drive through an unlocked door June 20 and stole a purse from the kitchen.

Breaking and entering

Police investigated an attempted break-in June 19 at a farm in the 40 block of West Case Drive.

New Franklin


A Green boy, 15, was stabbed in the abdomen June 17 during a fight between two teens at a Manchester Road home. The victim was treated at an Akron hospital. The alleged assailant, 16, was taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.

Springfield Township


An Abington Road man, 47, was charged with felonious assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and allowing dangerous dogs June 15 after police responded to a nuisance call. Three women, ages 26, 46 and 87, were summoned to Akron Municipal Court for letting dogs out of the house. The man fought with one officer and a dog bit a second officer, police said.

Domestic violence

A Myersville Road resident, 48, was wanted on a domestic violence warrant issued after she allegedly hit and yelled at her boyfriend for not giving her money June 17.

Breaking and entering

A computer and monitor, total value $900, were stolen from a Coach Lane home June 13 while a resident was visiting neighbors.


A Beach Drive woman told police June 19 that someone stole her debit card and made 50 transactions at ATMs to obtain $4,262.

An $1,100 tailgate belonging to RPM Motors on East Waterloo Road was stolen June 17 from a truck at Davis Auto Body on Canton Road.

Shelving units valued at $2,000 were stolen June 15 from the back of the Walmart on South Arlington Road. Security cameras showed a couple putting the units into a pickup truck.

An Owego Drive woman told police June 14 that jewelry valued at $2,040 was stolen from her home.



A woman, 18, was charged with possession of drug abuse instruments, and a man, 77, was charged with having an open container of an alcoholic beverage during a traffic stop June 21 on Southwest Avenue. Police reported finding syringes and a burned spoon near the passenger seat where the woman was sitting. Two open cans of beer also were in the vehicle.

A man, 34, and a woman, 31, both of Newton Falls, were charged with illegal manufacturing of drugs and illegal assembly of chemicals used to make drugs June 27 following a traffic stop on Interstate 76. The man also was charged with aggravated possession of drugs. Police reported finding methamphetamine, a portable meth lab and ingredients for making meth.


Someone broke into an apartment and garage June 22 in the 400 block of Northeast Avenue and stole jewelry, a video game system and a computer, total value $1,000.

Someone broke into a home June 25 in the 60 block of Craig Drive and stole jewelry and a computer, total value $2,500.

Breaking and entering

Someone broke into a storage shed between June 21 to 25 in the 200 block of West Avenue and stole $1,000 in items.

Identity theft

A Westvue Drive woman reported June 24 someone tried to open a credit card account in her husband’s name. A few weeks later, someone requested an IRS transcript in the couple’s name. The transcript was mailed to the couple’s home.

Stark County

Jackson Township


An Akron woman, 24, of Ruckel Road, was charged with two counts of theft June 17 involving a purse, wallet and other contents taken from a woman’s car in the parking lot of Quaker Steak and Lube on Dressler Road Northwest. Police said she ran from the car and was arrested at Dressler and Promway Avenue Northwest.

A Canton woman, 48, of Penn Place Northeast, surrendered to Jackson police June 17 on a theft warrant.

Three Canton residents — a man, 23, and woman, 25, of Alan Page Drive Southeast, and a Fifth Street Northwest man, 20 — were charged with theft June 14 after they allegedly tried to steal more than $1,900 in clothing from Sears at Westfield Belden Village Mall.


A St. Andrews Street Northwest woman told police June 11 that over the past two years she has paid someone $13,780 for assistance in purchasing a home but never received any help. When she asked for a refund, the suspect gave her a worthless check.

Three vases valued at $500 each were reportedly stolen between June 14 to 19 from three graves at the Sunset Hills Burial Park on Everhard Road Northwest.

A man and woman are accused of stealing a leaf blower and hedge trimmer, total value $555, from Sears at Westfield Belden Village Mall on June 13.

A $1,000 computer owned by Diebold in Green was reported stolen from a woman’s car June 10 at Katana Buffet on Everhard Road Northwest.

A $500 iPad was reported stolen June 12 from American Eagle Outfitters at Westfield Belden Village Mall.

A Fulton Drive Northwest man told police June 10 that he gave an acquaintance his credit card to purchase gasoline and food. The acquaintance never returned the card.

Lawrence Township


A country music festival at Clay’s Park on Patterson Street led to numerous arrests, including an Apple Creek man, 19, charged with felonious assault and resisting arrest June 15; and a Dover man, 30, accused of felony vandalism and assault June 14. Police said the Apple Creek man struck an officer in the forehead during a struggle to get the man handcuffed.

North Canton


An Alliance man, 18, was charged with robbery June 19 after police said he stole $80 tennis shoes and struggled with a security officer at Gabriel Brothers. Police arrested him on railroad tracks in the 3900 block of Everhard Road Southwest.


An Applegrove Street Northeast woman told police May 31 that she took off a watch and ring, total value $3,000, before going to bed and found they were missing when she awoke.

Plain Township


A Kirby Avenue Northeast man, 60, was charged with grand theft June 17 after he allegedly wrote $21,553 in checks to himself from the general fund of VFW Post 7490.

A Millvale Street Northeast man, 21, was charged with domestic violence June 13 after he allegedly lunged at the mother of his child because she didn’t want to go to a birthday party.

A 40th Street Northeast woman, 35, was arrested June 15 on a domestic violence warrant.



An Akron man, 33, of Berne Street, was charged with burglary June 17 after he allegedly broke out a basement window and crawled into an Edison Street Northwest home.

A Coshocton man, 27, was charged with felony receiving stolen property following a traffic stop June 13 at state Route 619 and Misty Avenue. Police reported finding jewelry, pills, tools and money that had been taken from a home in Coshocton.

Portage County



A South Francis Street woman was charged with aggravated possession of drugs June 24 in the 300 block of South Water Street.

A man, 19, was charged with two counts of assault, underage drinking and obstructing official business June 27.

A Tallmadge woman, 50, was arrested June 25 on a warrant alleging menacing.

A Tallmadge man, 21, was charged with felonious assault June 25.

A Ravenna man, 27, was charged with tampering with evidence June 22.

Someone broke into two homes in the 300 block of Lincoln Street and stole copper pipes June 25.
