An East Park Avenue man, 38, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence March 21 after being accused of arguing with his mother all day and threatening to kick her.

Police jailed an East State Street woman, 27, on a charge of domestic violence March 19 after police said she hit her brother repeatedly in front of officers, who also jailed a 30-year-old Prospect Street man found hiding in the furnace room and wanted on a warrant charging trafficking in drugs.

An Orrville man, 45, of Terminal Street was arrested on a Wayne County warrant for felony domestic violence when found at the Circle K convenience center on Manchester Road on March 19.

A 26-year-old Cleveland man was charged March 24 with assault. He is accused of assaulting a 36-year-old woman at her Second Street apartment.

A Bolich Middle School sixth-grade student was charged March 19 with assault. He is accused of scratching and hitting a teacher.

A 23-year-old Campbell Street man was charged March 21 with tampering with evidence. He is accused of concealing a hypodermic syringe from officers.

A 69-year-old Merline Street woman reported March 19 someone entered her unlocked apartment and took her prescription medication.

Identity theft

A 36-year-old Third Street woman reported March 20 someone used her personal information to obtain a cash advance loan for nearly $1,000.

Theft

A wallet was stolen from a vehicle parked in the parking lot of Marc’s, 2400 State Road, on March 23.

Two vehicles parked in the YMCA lot at 544 Broad Blvd. were broken into March 19. Purses containing credit cards were taken from both vehicles.

An Everhart Drive woman, 54, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence. She and her husband argued and she swung a baseball bat at his head, the arresting Summit County sheriff’s deputy said in a report.

A Stoney Hill Drive man was charged March 24 with domestic violence. He is accused of assaulting his 13-year-old son.

Burglary

A home in the 6600 block of Hollis Boulevard was burglarized March 21.

A home in the 100 block of South Main Street was broken into March 20.

Identity theft

A Stoney Hill Drive couple reported March 21 someone opened a cellphone account using their personal information.

A White Marsh Way woman reported March 20 someone used her personal information in an attempt to file a fraudulent federal tax return.

Arrest

Felony charges of domestic violence and disrupting public services were lodged against a 33-year-old Odelle Drive man March 15. Police said he ripped two phones off walls, pushed his grandma to the ground, broke a mirror and was bitten by a dog.

Theft

A .22-caliber revolver was stolen from a Manchester Road home March 19 after entry to the residence was forced. Police didn’t list a value on the weapon.

Breaking and entering

Former employees are suspected in the break-in of Flesher Sand and Gravel, 3322 Clarkmill Road, between March 21 and 24. Tools valued at more than $3,000 were taken.

Misuse of a credit card

A Greenwich Road woman reported March 21 someone tried to use her debit card to make an Internet transaction. The transaction was denied by her bank.

Arrests

Police jailed an Edith Avenue man, 31, on a charge of domestic violence March 17 after police said he argued with his wife, threw a candle at their TV set and hit her in the face.

A Michaels Drive man, 31, and woman, 26, were given summonses to Akron Municipal Court on a charge of endangering children after a well-being check by police March 13 resulted in two young children being turned over to Summit County Children Services because of poor living conditions, police said.

Robbery

A driver for Hunan King on Canton Road told police March 16 that he was making a delivery on Old Home Road when a man approached him with a gun, demanded his wallet containing $100 and then fled on foot.

Burglary

A Krumroy Road resident told police March 18 that while she was away her home was ransacked and two handguns and $3,000 were stolen.

Two TV sets, total value $1,700, were reported stolen from an East Waterloo Road residence by someone who entered through a window March 18.

A 44-year-old Akron man was charged March 23 with possession of cocaine, tampering with evidence and drug trafficking. During a traffic stop on Kent Road at Orchard Drive, police reported recovering suspected cocaine from a sewer grate after the suspect was observed dropping something there. The suspect was carrying $750.

Three high school students, ages 18 and 17, were charged March 24 with possession of marijuana. Police were called to a home in the 3500 block of Adaline Drive, where five teens were in the garage while the homeowners were on vacation. Police confiscated marijuana-laced cigars and marijuana-laced cookies.

A 29-year-old North Thomas Road man was arrested March 20 on a warrant for domestic violence.

Police are investigating a March 23 report of child pornography possession.

Theft

A Chevrolet truck with attached snow plow and salt spreader was taken from Prestige Auto, 355 West Ave., March 24. The theft was caught on surveillance video.

Officers were called to a residence on Sprague Road March 26 after a neighbor saw two males use a ladder to climb through a back window of a home. Officers discovered it was two juveniles who had locked themselves out of the house.

Police were called to the BP on Medina Road on March 26 after customers found the business unlocked and dark in the morning. It turned out the morning shift had arrived late to work and the night shift failed to lock the doors.

A juvenile was charged March 25 with domestic violence. She is accused of assaulting a 33-year-old woman at a residence in the 900 block of Queens Gate Way.

A College Street couple reported March 25 their credit card was used to make unauthorized purchases in Columbus.

Police charged a 29-year-old Akron man with assault, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct while in the 100 block of East Erie Street on March 23.

A 26-year-old Walter Street man was charged March 21 with possession of heroin and possession of marijuana.

Police jailed an Akron man, 77, of Linden Avenue on charges of felonious assault and theft March 14 after police said he took control of property without the owner’s consent and attempted to cause serious physical harm to a male witness with a knife.

Jackson Township

Arrests

A Malvern man, 33, was jailed by police on charges of aggravated menacing and obstructing official business after a Jackson officer said the suspect threatened to kill the officer and a hospital nursing team treating him at a Canton hospital March 18. He was Tasered twice to get him under control, a police report stated.

A Canton man, 53, of Olive Place Northeast was jailed on a theft charge March 17 after police said he stole two electric scooters from Sears in the Belden Village Mall. He was found at a nearby location with the merchandise, police said.

A catalytic converter, total value $600, was reported stolen from a 2010 auto March 10 at Motion Autosport on Sunset Strip Avenue Northwest.

Domestic violence and endangering children charges were lodged against a Thornton Street Northwest man, 35, when arrested March 18 on a warrant.

Stark deputies jailed a Mount Pleasant Street Northeast woman, 21, on a domestic violence charge after police said she admitted hitting her boyfriend several times during an argument March 16.

North Canton

A Lake Township woman, 47, of State Street Northeast was jailed March 18 on charges of felony receiving stolen property and possession of medication belonging to a Barberton woman for whom the suspect cleaned her home. The suspect was arrested in the 4200 block of Everhard Road Southwest.

An Ellesmere Avenue Northwest resident told police he was sleeping when his wife came in and argued with him, started hitting him and ripped his shirt. The woman, 39, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence.

Misuse of a credit card

A North Canton man told police March 15 that a relative used his credit card to complete fraudulent transactions to get cash, totaling $1,500.

Two counts of felonious assault were filed against an Azalea Avenue Northeast woman, 21, on March 20 for spitting in faces and threatening physical harm, a Stark County sheriff’s report stated.

A 32nd Street Northeast man, 23, was arrested by Akron police on a Stark County warrant for domestic violence March 16 and booked at the Stark jail.

An Edison Street Northwest man, 34, was jailed on a charge of domestic violence after police said he hit, choked and threw his father down during an altercation.

A Chippewa Township woman, 22, was arrested March 25 on charges of felonious assault and endangering children after her 6-week-old son was taken to Akron Children’s Hospital with apparent broken bones, a report said. The boy’s father called 911 to report the injuries after the child acted unusual at their home in the 13900 block of Allison Drive.

Falsification

A 53-year-old East Union Township woman reported March 14 that someone used her Discover credit card without her permission and used it to pay a bill for $8,900.

Thefts

A hot water heater, a furnace and a sink, total value $1,950, were reported taken March 17 from a trailer at Glenridge Motor Home Park, 10341 E. Lincoln Way, East Union Township.

A 9 mm handgun worth $500 was reported stolen March 22 from a residence in the 3200 block of East Easton Road, Wayne Township.

Wooster

Arrests

A Wooster man, 36, was arrested March 25 on charges of assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct after he fought with a police officer who was trying to arrest him at his residence in the 900 block of Timber Lane.

Two Wooster men, 24 and 30, were charged March 23 with manufacture of drugs, trafficking in drugs and illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for manufacture of drugs after police seized items at a residence in the 600 block of Nold Avenue for making methamphetamines and found three meth labs.

Arson

Someone set a trash bin on fire March 21 at Hometown Hardware, 160 S. Columbus Ave.

Burglary

A resident in the 200 block of Beall Avenue reported March 25 that $22 was taken from a locked cabinet.

Robbery

A clerk reported March 23 that a woman who said she had a gun demanded money from a cash drawer at McDonald’s, 540 Beall Ave.

Thefts

Tools worth $880 and $800 in cash were reported stolen March 21 from a coin machine and a storage room at Lake Auto Care, 4344 Cleveland Road.

An employee of BP, 2958 Cleveland Road, left a note March 21 saying he was sorry and was leaving for Canada, a report said. The employee allegedly filled his car with gas, took $2,100, stole 50 packs of cigarettes and activated gift cards worth $2,500.
