A Gaylord Drive man, 24, was charged with felonious assault after he allegedly pistol-whipped a woman in the head and stabbed her several times.

A Tallmadge man, 31, of Northeast Avenue, was charged with discharging a gun into an occupied structure, felonious assault and aggravated menacing. Police said he fired the shots following a quarrel over money and threatened to kill the residentís family.

A South Arlington Street man, 26, was charged with felonious assault and domestic violence following an altercation at the Motel 6 in Copley Township. Police said the man drove his car into the womanís vehicle several times on Interstate 77 while she was on the phone with an officer.

A Fourth Avenue woman, 41, and a North Arlington Street man, 46, were charged with obstructing justice after they were apprehended while entering a vacant house on Goodyear Boulevard. The man was wanted on a Maryland warrant alleging attempted murder, felonious assault and aggravated robbery.

A Fuller Street man, 23, was charged with domestic violence after he allegedly assaulted a woman who is pregnant with his child.

A Norton man, 18, of Shellhart Road, was charged with aggravated robbery after police interrupted a holdup at Churchís Chicken on South Main Street.

A Concord Avenue man, 25 was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon illegally, improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and drug abuse of marijuana after police stopped his car for allegedly driving through a stop sign at Cole Avenue and Inman Street.

A Bertha Avenue man, 20, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possessing a weapon illegally and obstructing official business after he allegedly ran from a car during a traffic stop and hid on a shedís roof.

A Wilbur Avenue man, 23, was charged with burglary after he allegedly kicked in a door at a Celina Avenue home and tried to remove his son.

A Vernon Odom Boulevard woman, 36, was charged with felony theft after she allegedly stole three credit cards from her mother and used them at various locations.

An East Crosier Street man, 22, was charged with burglary after his fingerprints reportedly were found inside a Reed Avenue home.

Telecommunications fraud

A St. Francis Drive woman told police March 20 that she received a call from someone who claimed to be from Dominion East Ohio. The caller asked for the womanís account number and hung up after receiving it.


A North Shore Drive man told police March 17 that he bought a $6,000 book on eBay from a seller in Germany. When the package arrived, the box was partly opened and the book was missing.



A Second Street Northwest man, 24, was charged with domestic violence March 19 after he allegedly punched a woman in the face during a quarrel about her telephone.

A Herms Court man, 18, was charged with domestic violence March 15 after he allegedly choked and pushed his wife.


Medication and two guns, total value $800, were reported stolen March 19 from a Highland Avenue home.

Cuyahoga Falls


An Akron man, 22, was charged with criminal damaging March 25 after he allegedly drove his Ford F-150 pickup over the lawn at Todaroís Party Center, 1820 Akron-Peninsula Road, causing $3,000 in damage.

A Tallmadge man, 21, was charged with discharging a firearm within city limits March 25 after a bullet was found in a wall at a neighborís Buckingham Gate home.

A Sand Hill Drive man, 34, was charged with domestic violence March 25 after he allegedly assaulted his wife.

An Edwards Avenue man, 30, was charged with threatening domestic violence March 27 after he allegedly threatened to kill his wife.

Breaking and entering

Someone broke the front door of Cuttin It Up Beauty Salon, 3440 Bailey Road, and looked for money in a charity box March 27.

Someone shattered the glass front door of Razorís Edge Hair Studio, 494 Graham Road, and stole a money box and $190.


Items valued at $2,000 were reported stolen March 28 from a home in the 1700 block of Falls Avenue.

Jewelry valued at $2,500 was stolen March 28 from a home in the 2200 block of Hoch Drive.


A Chestnut Drive man told police March 27 that someone went to Huntington Bank, 230 Howe Ave., and cashed a $100 check using his account number.

Misuse of a credit card

An 11th Street woman reported March 26 that someone used her credit card account to make more than $1,000 in purchases.


A Rolex watch and a diamond ring, total value $3,000, were stolen between March 15 and March 20 from a home in the 700 block of Alameda Avenue.

A Forest Glen Drive woman reported March 23 that a money bag containing $975 in cash and checks was stolen from an unlocked car parked at 655 Portage Trail.



An Akron man, 19, was charged with theft March 26 after he allegedly tried to steal $111 in clothes from Dillardís in Summit Mall.

Two women were charged March 23 with stealing six coats worth $990 from Macyís at Summit Mall.


An Akron woman, 25, was charged with obstructing justice and failing to appear in court. She was questioned after she left four children unattended at a play area at Summit Mall. Authorities discovered she had an active warrant from Broadview Heights alleging failure to appear in court.

A Copley man, 19, was charged with possessing marijuana during a traffic stop.



A woman stole 72 printer cartridges, total value $2,573, from the Target on South Arlington Road.



A man reported March 21 that a relative forged three checks.

Misuse of a credit card

A Silverberry Lane man reported March 19 someone used his credit card to open an online account to buy computer hardware.

New Franklin


A Mogadore girl, 13, told police March 15 that she was head-butted during a quarrel with a relative at a Clinton home.

Identity fraud

A Wilcor Drive resident said her debit card was used without her permission March 13 to make three purchases totaling $1,055.


Domestic violence

A Cuyahoga Falls woman told police March 27 that her boyfriend struck her in the face several times, knocking her unconscious while she was driving. The vehicle was spinning out of control when she regained consciousness. She said her boyfriend took over driving and made her leave the vehicle on state Route 224 at Interstate 77. She got a ride to Springfield Township, where paramedics treated her injuries. The boyfriend was found passed out behind the wheel of the car in Barberton.


Several cars in the city were broken into March 25. Cash and a computer were among the items taken.

Springfield Township


A fish finder and other items, total value $1,364, were stolen March 17 from a boat at a Tritt Drive home.


Breaking and entering

Copper pipes were reported stolen from a vacant home on Meadowbrook Boulevard.


A North Santom Road woman, 57, reported March 26 that a man came to her home uninvited after sending her several unwelcome text messages and letters.


A Ritchie Road man, 27, told police March 28 that someone looted his bedroom and stole $300. He suspected a drinking buddy who left a bar early the night before while the man stayed behind.

A Cuyahoga Falls woman, 44, was charged March 27 with receiving stolen property during a traffic stop on Graham Road at state Route 8. Police said the car had been reported stolen.

A Liberty Road woman told police March 25 that someone took nearly $5,500 worth of jewelry from a safe in her home.



A North Thomas Road man, 23, was charged with falsification March 22 after he allegedly gave another personís name and birth date during a traffic stop.


Someone broke into an apartment March 25 in the 300 block of Westberry Circle and stole a television and computer, total value $750.


A 12-gauge shotgun valued at $500 was stolen from a vendorís table at a gun show March 24 at the Summit County Fairgrounds.

Theft by deception

An Osceola Avenue man reported March 21 he paid an eBay seller $2,850 for an ATV, then later realized the listing was fraudulent.

Misuse of credit card

A Stauffer Drive man reported March 27 his credit card was used for unauthorized transactions in France.

A Wolf Avenue resident reported March 26 someone used his credit card account for unauthorized transactions in England.

Portage County



An Anita Court man, 21, was charged with violating a protection order March 25.

An Akron man, 29, was arrested March 22 on a domestic violence warrant.

A Kent man, 23, was charged with felony domestic violence March 25.

Stark County

Jackson Township


A 38th Street Northwest woman, 22, was charged with domestic violence March 17 after she allegedly head-butted her fiancť. She was taken into custody in the 4400 block of Everhard Road Northwest.

A Wales Avenue Northwest woman, 56, was charged with felony theft from an elderly person after she allegedly stole $28,000 over time.

An Echo Springs Street Northwest woman, 25, was arrested on a domestic violence warrant.

Police jailed a Stanbury Circle Northwest man, 18, on two counts of domestic violence and one of resisting arrest March 14 after his mother told police her son was out of control and threatening to kill her and her daughter.

Identity fraud

A Jackson Township man told police March 18 that someone took $1,894 from his FirstMerit bank account without authorization.


Sunglasses and frames, total value $930, were reported stolen March 12 from Fishers Optical on Frank Avenue Northwest.

A Lesh Road Northeast man, 21, was charged with domestic violence March 16 after he allegedly threw a woman to the floor of her home.
