CLEVELAND: Republican officials say Clevelandís Quicken Loans Arena will be ready for next monthís Republican National Convention despite having only four weeks to prepare because of the Cleveland Cavaliersí NBA title run.

The GOPís Committee on Arrangements allowed reporters and cameras inside the arena Tuesday for a glimpse of the progress thatís been made three weeks before the start of the convention.

Jeff Larson, head of the arrangements committee, says the GOP has been working cooperatively with the campaign staff of presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump on the stage design and other details.

Larson says Trump will accept the nomination July 21 inside the arena and not at a larger venue like Cleveland Browns Stadium. Larson says the shortest preparation period for a convention venue previously was five weeks.
