RAVENNA: A top official in the Portage County Sheriff’s Office has resigned after complaints that he sexually harassed two women, the Kent-Ravenna Record-Courier reports.

Maj. Dennis Missimi’s resignation was effective May 26. The details about the incidents were not released, but Sheriff David Doak told the newspaper that one involved a sheriff’s employee and both women had worked with Missimi.

Missimi has a long law enforcement history in the county, with his previous experience including working as a training coordinator for officers on how to deal with the mentally disabled and as service director for the city of Kent, the newspaper said.
