HUDSON: Rescued farm animals from the Happy Trails Animal Sanctuary will visit Rejoice Lutheran Church on Stow Road in Hudson at 7 p.m. Sept. 13.


Goats Odessa and Natasha; Kachina, the mini horse; Gershwin and Kitaro, ex-cockfighting roosters, and Sgt. Pepper, a pot-bellied pig, will make special appearances at the free family event.


Sanctuary director Annette Fisher will explain the shelter's role.


Raffle prizes, free goodies and a drawing to spend a day at the sanctuary will be part of the event.


Founded in 2000, Happy Trails is home to about 100 rescued animals.


The sanctuary at 5623 New Milford Road in Ravenna Township serves the law enforcement and humane societies of Ohio and often surrounding states.
