An Akron man who was stabbed multiple times early Sunday managed to walk across East Market Street before succumbing to his injuries outside of Summa Akron City Hospital, police said.

Anthony Hargrove, 30, was found on a bench outside the hospital about 1 a.m. He was taken inside and pronounced dead, police Lt. Rick Edwards said.

An autopsy shows Hargrove died from a stab wound to the torso.

A suspect in the stabbing fled from the area near 56 S. Adams St. on a bicycle and has not been apprehended. A neighbor saw the two men fighting near the parking lot of a CVS drugstore located across the street from the hospital.

The suspect fled toward East Buchtel Avenue following the stabbing. Police describe him as a black male in his 20s with a beard and moustache. He wore a gray hooded sweatshirt and dark shorts.
