A welfare check by Akron police led to the discovery of a meth lab on North Martha Avenue and six arrests, newsnet5.com reported.

Arrested in connection with the meth lab and a gun found in the apartment were three men and three juveniles.

Police were called because a 57-year-old resident had not been seen by a friend since last Saturday.

Police told the Beacon Journal early Friday evening that the man, who is not a suspect in the drug case, has returned to his residence after a period of hospitalization.
